Invisalign® for Adults

For years now, Invisalign® has been transforming patients’ smiles discreetly with clear, removable trays. Millions of patients around the U.S. have benefitted from straightening their teeth with Invisalign® while enjoying the perks of being able to remove them to eat, brush and floss, and even for special occasions. At North Pier Dental, we’re helping patients of all ages achieve optimal oral health, and that includes helping adults straighten their smiles with Invisalign®.

A common misconception is that orthodontic treatment is just for children and teenagers. However, as long as a patient doesn’t have any underlying conditions that would prevent them from safely seeking treatment, patients of any age can go through braces or orthodontic treatment.

For busy, working adults, Invisalign® is a fantastic option. The clear trays are hardly noticeable and adapt well into your routine. Worn for 23 hours a day, you can take them out to enjoy the foods you love. And unlike with traditional metal braces, you’ll be able to easily keep up with your dental hygiene—no need to brush or floss around metal brackets and worry about any staining due to the hardware.

Who is a Candidate for Invisalign®?

Patients who are candidates for Invisalign® are those who have crowded teeth, are looking to close spaces, or make other minor corrections. You may also be a candidate for Invisalign® if you had braces as a child or teenager and your teeth have shifted over the years. Invisalign® treatment can be used for minor to moderate corrections, and we can help you determine the best treatment option for you at your consultation.

The Invisalign® Process

The Invisalign® process begins with a consultation at our clinic. We’ll take impressions of your teeth and discuss what to expect with your treatment. After your first set of trays are ready, you’ll come back in every six weeks to receive new three sets of trays at a time and so we can ensure your treatment is on track. Each set of trays will be worn for two weeks for 23 hours a day, and treatment is usually anywhere from six to 24 months depending on the amount of correction needed.
